BOOK HAUL: My Two Obsessions

I have two major obsessions when it comes to reading: the fantasy genre and classics. So, is it any surprise that this week's haul easily divides into those two categories? I think not. ;) These books are actually not from the previous week, but from the week before, so I've already read three of them, reviewed two of them and started another two. :)

Fantasy

DREAMS OF GODS AND MONSTERS – The final instalment in my favourite YA series… and it's signed with a drawing on the inside page! Can you tell I'm ecstatic about this?! Because I am, I really am. Although, all that said, I haven't started it yet as I've been waiting to be in exactly the right mood to read it. There's no way I'm going to let fatigue or exam stress get in the way of my enjoyment of this book!

THE FINAL EMPIRE (review) – I've already reviewed this one and wow. Just wow. It's almost a week since I finished it and I'm still struggling to comprehend my thoughts. I cannot wait to begin reading the sequel. Easily the best book I've read in ages.

HALF BAD (review) – Again, I really enjoyed this one and I read it in pretty much one sitting. Half Bad had such a fascinating style and premise that I'm not quite done with this world yet! Thank you to Penguin for sending me a review copy.

Classics

I picked up BELOVEDA ROOM WITH A VIEW and BRIDESHEAD REVISITED at a little book fair I came across whilst I was away. The book fair was in a little tea house and each shelf there was full to the brim with classics (my utopia?)… obviously, I couldn't leave without picking up three & I've been meaning to read these three for AGES.

THE MOON IS DOWN – I love John Steinbeck's work, so, even though this one is very different to Of Mice and Men and Cannery Row, I enjoyed it a lot. :) Thank you to Penguin for sending me a review copy.

Have you read any of these or are you hoping to read any of them? I'd love to hear. Also, the reason I decided to make this haul post is because hauls came out as surprisingly popular in my survey (you can still do it HERE!). The idea of using a gif in a haul post was first thought of by the incredible Hawwa who blogs over at It Was Lovely Reading You – go stalk her blog!
